Action Mesothelioma Day

Action Mesothelioma Day is observed every year in the UK to raise awareness about mesothelioma.

Held on the first Friday of July, the day brings together patients, families, healthcare professionals, and support organisations to remember those who have lost their lives and to advocate for better research, treatment, and support for those affected. It’s also a time to promote education about the dangers of asbestos, which, despite being banned in the UK, still lingers in many older buildings. Through events, memorials and community action, the day fosters hope, remembrance, and solidarity.

Since JHMRF was created, we have regularly held ‘Meet the Researchers’ events on or around Action Mesothelioma Day. These events give our supporters the opportunity to learn about the research JHMRF is suporting and about other types of research too. The event are usually informal, allowing attendees to meet doctors, nurses, scientists and legal experts in small groups and to ask them questions.
